So you wanna know more about me, huh? Okay!
My name's Polaris Storm. I'm a writer and artist who started getting into game development in March of this year.
Game development saved my life. I was extremely depressed last year, and in March I was just recovering from that severe episode. I was introduced to Godot, and eventually also found Dialogic. These made it so that I could build games easier than I could ever have imagined. I ended up loving it more than I expected, and it's completely revitalized me! I had given up on my writing and art, but now I've found a reason to engage with them again. Every time someone plays and enjoy my games, I'm brought joy. The indie dev scene has been far kinder to me than many other creative worlds I've been in. So as long as you're playing and enjoying yourself, I'm happy. :)
Also, I believe that games are an extremely powerful way to tell stories. They are interactive fiction, in the broadest sense. And they're a wonderful sort! You could sit down and analyze a game's story just like you could a novel, but the interactivity and hybridization between art forms brings a deeper connection. That's my mission with Games from the Lightside: to use videogames as the powerful storytelling medium they are.
Also I'm a cringe furry. Don't act shocked.
